Basically throughout the w test patch phase , we had ballast to bring together the competetiveness of the cars in question.
Now i thought with patch-x that perhaps these changes would of been fixed into SP code so that when hotlapping, im driving the exact same car as i do in Multiplayer.
It really is a chore at the moment, sets i make in MP are no good due to adjustments made to compensate for ballast positioning. and vice versa.
I really think that reseting the hotlap charts for the cars mentioned , till the next incompatible patch will help racers and give data to help & assist devs to make adjustments to the cars before the next stage.
i think im prob one of the most addicted FXO drivers out here, makes me happy indeed that the class now is much more balanced , Cant remember any poiint since S1 , where im fighting XRT & RB4 in corners as much as i am now.
FXO needs to loose a tiny amount of weight and the balancing will be perfect imo (around 5-10kg) it suffers so badly on the straights now
doesnt bother me though i relish a challenge and it was rare thing in patch W to really be fighting with XRT/RB4 for position.
I just hope scawen doesnt shrink the FXO tyres then it will be just impossible to keep up. At the moment im having the closest racing ever. This is fairest and most fun the TBO class has been, since S1. (since handicap)
^ Anyone who disagrees really should drive TBO more. Hell some good XRT drivers prolly even stopped racing TBO because of the way FXO was.
Not to mention how the balancing has brought back the RB4
Oh yeah Fastest car in my head is FXO , but in reality now its pretty much a threeway tie, very much track and conditions and lap dependant.
Then start a single player game, in the pits screen create a new colour profile (on the left side)
if you look at the lower middle area of screen you will see tabs, goto the colour tab, see the label for the skin used, if you click that you will then see any skins you have imported into LFS/DATA/SKINS.
Scawen , the person typing sees his/her message, but others see a cut-short version. Ive tested on my own server, team [dSRC] server and OLT and some others all exhibit same problem.
asked various people to check who joined to make sure im not going mad
*edit*update
Ok i think i found the problem after scratching my head , and testing , its seems servers with insim relay are affected, servers with none seem fine.

Reason : tested idea?
Good to see you loving LFS , the limit on AI im guessing, is due to bandwidth restrictions and there is no way to add more at moment. e.g.
server is set so
10 open spots
3 cars per host
3 cars per guest
would mean 30 cars if all AI used. This is also the case for the full version maybe when peoples internet bandwidth isnt an issue then who knows what the future holds
Well if its doubling surely it was on ?
Maybe check your driver options for graphics card to make sure its not being forced?
Anyways bringing up a possible bug here , i think, with W17 on 3 different servers ive noticed the Chat being cut short, if someone or myself has typed in a long sentence/paragraph. eg.
if i typed "today is the greatest day ive ever known, today i forgets how big this game has grown, today is the only day ive ever known, today is one day i dont want to spend alone" (copyright@AL)
other racers/ users would see somthing like "today is the greatest day ive ever known, today i forgets how big this game has grown, today is the only day ive"
*edit*2* ahh ok Rob makes more sense

Reason : Better explination
I get that "Old S1 days feeling" everytime with TBO class, was nice racing indeed today and near enough everytime i join (only times it not is when its been emtpy)
aye no rear ARB doesnt do it any favours, i just think in its present state although its fun to drive, ultimately its a negative thing every time i race RAC i have gut feeling that car is either just a bad car (which if thats the case due to the tyres and arb etc) or its LFS not doing somthing right, does a great job & and dont take this thread at a stab@LFS , on the contruary, i just want to see how the rest of LFS community feels on this particular vehicle. Would an improved spec RAC be better then a replica spec as part of LFS? as i siad earlier this isnt an atttack on RAC or LFS , just airing some thoughts on this car.
Ever since its arrivial in LFS ive found this car one of the most difficult to drive, no matter what i do it will not grip and keep tyres healthy.
The weight of the car makes it tricky also, compare tyres on the (XRT/FZ5/LX6/RB4/FXO to RAC) , ive tried adjusting set so wieght is shifted to front of the car a little more , but then you have all that power at the rears, with very little holding it down + combined with tiny rear tyres make this car just slide.
I want to love this car as it is a beuatiful car as you will no doubt agree, but why does beautiful always come with baggage ?.
Is it just me or do you agree the tyres are just to narrow to give this car stability and stamina ? but in retrospect this car is modeled like the MRT to simulate its realife counterpart , so maybe question i should ask is are the tyres that are used for RAC in LFS a good reproduction of the RL version, or to awnser this quoting a friend whilst discussing this issue before posting, "lfs is ice skating simulator, what you think"
i'd like to think with maybe some patch, that one day it wil become drivable and used more then it is in its present state. (which i think is due to its madness)

Reason : *spleling* :)
definately an intersting idea, like rc10racer says, with current w patch phase, and x not to far away, sets will be invalid or just not right/optimal.
Im currently putting together a collection of race and qual sets for FXO and XRT majority are my own and from team members, and some others from respected racers/peers.
Will the base setup project have archived areas for different eras of LFS ? ie U V W etc
bla and still ill pwn your arse with FXO. 111111!!!!!!
back to topic though . i dont think ive ever told anyone they had blueflag unless i was admining a rough LFS session . Guess i had somthing instilled into me at a young age, respect. This is what drew me into LFS (along with a difficulty i hadnt experienced since Papyrus's GPL.
Best thing a new racer can do is seek advice and listen & learn & watch, worst thing they can do is try and race at speeds of which they cannot handle(or should i say handle the braking) and then have audacity to blame others or even worse reach for the ban/kick button . TBH i think its a duty of all experienced LFS'ers to show the new guys the way to go and how to drive. (If a servers quiet and im with some new guy i'll offer tips etc get them to watch a lap and vice versa) if nobody shows then how would we expect them behave? My first tutors as far as i can remember were some of my current teammates, Doorman, AR-JJ & Gunja & AR-Goran platinum pete and everyone else who frequented dMr wayback when (happy days)
My advice is to:
1> go on established servers ( not to busy)
2> learn the car (dont keep chqanging the set stick to one and get so comfortable with car and set you are able to predict its character and performance
3> learn the track slowly at first , get a feel for both (2 & 3), then start to pick the pace
4> Ask if its quiet, if there is a fast racer around if he can run a few laps to see if there are any lines or manouveres you may not be aware of that could benefit your ability.
5>Respect the road and the racers
keep to 1 2 3 5 (4 is important but down to person(s) )
and you soon loose the feeling of being a n00b

Reason : forgot 111111!!!!!! & removed bat ticks
LFS`s Music is simply awesome very subtle stuff , "nova" "keep on going" "feel the silence" , was maybe the 2nd thing that made LFS stand out from the crowd for myself..
Maybe worth trying fruity loops, but i guess you have ?
